“uniMind – University Extension” is a programm by the University of Vienna aims to develop Austria into a progressive knowledge society with sustainable development, more and better jobs and stronger social cohesion. The fifth volume of the uniMind publications series “University – Society – Industry” is titled “Gesellschaft im Wandel”, which translates to “Society in Transition”. SERI-Researcher Christina Buczko contributed with an article on “International resource policy and global responsibility”.
The article provides an overview of the development of global resource use as well as international governance in the area over the past years and presents the scientific discussion about global resource targets. Finally, a number of scenarios is presented in regards to social, ecological, and democratic and political implications.
