The design of a feasible MIX OF policy instruments and a deeper knowledge about the fundamentals of political processes is essential for a successful implementation of dematerialization. Fundamental questions arise when dealing with the policy and politics of dematerialization: (1) Which norms, frameworks, strategies, instruments and organizations are necessary for reducing material flows? (2) What is the role of political processes? (3) Which links exist between Distribution
and Dematerialization? Project Areas Instruments and Norms Which

of dematerialization can serve here as a guiding principle. But how can
it be implemented? The policy process What is the role
of political processes? How can the goal of dematerialization be justified
and communicated in political processes? Which barriers are there for
political preference building? Distribution and Environment Which links exist between Distribution
and Dematerialization? When natural limits are discussed on the basis
of biophysical assessments, the importance of distribution will immediately
become evident. |
