Mario Signorino, formerly president of ANPA (National Agency for Environmental Protection), has been appointed by Environment Minister to produce a National Plan for Sustainable Development 2000 - 2005.

Now the Environment Minister has asked ENEA (National Agency for Energy, Environment and Innovation) has approached SERI to support the development of the Plan with its consultancy on

• The general structure of the plan and especially on the strategical
  orientation;
• The scenarios and intermediate (short-mid term) targets;
• The methodologies for evalutating sustainability, especially at local
  level (environmental space, footprint, MIPS, dematerialization, etc.);
• The sectorial policies (Industry, Agriculture, Services, Energy,
  Transport and Infrastructures, Tourism).
