An OpenSpace4Future on the occasion of the Austrian coalition negotiations
On 11 November 2019 at 6pm, an OpenSpace4Future will be streamed online on Skype and Periscope, with discussion on Twitter under the Hashtag #zukunftstaucher.
At the end of 2015, the international community came to an agreement in Paris to limit the world’s greenhouse gas emissions in order to prevent a global climate crisis. Global warming is to be limited to less than two degrees Celsius compared with the pre-industrial era, if possible even to 1.5 degrees Celsius. This is the future that is ecologically at stake.
But it also works economically. This is what Austrian politics is all about right now, with the conservative ÖVP presumably negotiating a possible coalition with the Green Party. Both parties are forward-looking. One more with a view toward economic issues, others with a focus on the topic of “climate protection”. How would a combination of both be possible?
